Shakti Maitri
Therapy Collective
Peer Support + Consultation for BIPOC Women in Private Practice
Who We Are
Shakti Maitri Collective is a sanctuary for BIPOC women who run a private therapy practice. The intention of this container is to take the pressure off of being a therapist in private practice alone as a woman of color with unique perspectives through sharing goals, wins, losses, and stuck points; witnessing peers; personal and therapeutic consultation; opportunity for individual and group supervision; self-care; and collaboration.
At Shakti Maitri Collective, we center feminine wisdom and marginalized perspectives. We hold the intention of decolonizing in order to reindigenize and revillage for collective liberation.
Decolonize - naming and unlearning ways of being that separate us from the land, ourselves, and each other
Reindigenize - an embodied journey of rebelonging to the earth, lineage, and practicing right relationship with oneself and each other
Revillage - a remembered embodiment of right relation with one another
We Are Stronger Together
Individual authentically exalted puzzle pieces...
...coming together to form one cohesive puzzle

Founder
Shakti Maitri Collective is founded and run by Jasmine McCarthy, MA, LMHC, NCC. Jasmine is a biracial second-generation immigrant. With her mom being full Filipino, immigrated from the Philippines, and dad being Irish from the midwest, cultural inclusion has been a large part of her personal, academic, and professional life experience. Seeking to bridge worlds of Eastern Philosophy and Western Scientific translatability, it has been Jasmine's perogative to honor the roots of ancient practices in making them accessible through mental health therapy.
Jasmine has conducted research on the racial wealth gap rooted in the American housing and education systems, contemporary mass shootings and factors of thresholds for enacting violence, effects of media on the brain and adolescent development, and intersectional social revolution theories. In 2021, Jasmine published "Infusing Counseling with Spirituality through Yoga", an academic article in the ASERVIC (Association for Spiritual, Ethical, & Religious Values in Counseling) Journal.
Jasmine has been practicing as a licensed mental health counselor for over 5 years and is certified in teaching Yoga (2020), Reiki I+II (2021), Tantric Meditation (2021), Incredible Years Parenting Program for Basic and School Age Children (2022), Kundalini Yoga (2025), and Somatic Attachment Therapy (2025).
Attending conscious music, art, and village-style festivals; traveling to holy sites; and engaging in women's work throughout her life has supplemented Jasmine with an artful focus towards collective liberation, matriarchal values, and embodied sovereignty.
